Anna Chapman graduated as an economist specialising in global economy. She also earned a degree in German translation (1999), as well as a special certificate in finance (Financial Regulation, Securities and Derivatives) at the UK institute BPP, and passed special exams in financial analysis (FPC) in 2005 for UK and European banks. Anna grew up abroad and studied at a women’s Catholic monastery, where she also learnt French.

Anna opened her first business at the age of 21 in London, where she moved in her last year at university. The enterprise saw turnover reach £200,000 in just its second month of operation. By the age of 24 she had already managed to work for both Western banks and hedge funds in London, and even sold private jets for a company owned by Warren Buffett.

In 2006-2007 Anna served as vice president for the holding company KIT Fortis. In 2007 she was one of the first Russian entrepreneurs to receive investment for an IT startup – a vertical search engine for real estate that employed an average of 32 staff, including a team of developers. The PropertyFinder Ltd patented a unique database and acquired real estate all over Russia (and later in London and New York) from over 1,000 independent estate agents, with listings updated daily and eventually numbering more than a million properties. In 2009 the company opened an office in New York.

In 2010, Anna launched her own show, Mysteries of the World with Anna Chapman” on the REN TV television channel as presenter. In 2015 the programme was renamed simply Tainy Chapman (“Chapman’s Mysteries”).

In 2013 she joined the board of directors at Fondservisbank, the corporate bank that used to hold actives of Russia’s space agency Roscosmos. In 2012 Anna established the UMA Foundation, which supports young scientists. The foundation held seven academic conferences using funding attracted by Anna, and organized a network of Russia’s most talented biomedical students and scientists (around 600 people) with lectures by leading world scholars and technopark owners. UMA Foundation also aided in the publication and financing that year of 27 academic articles in cited international scientific journals (for comparison, this kind of annual volume is typical for an entire institute).

From 2014-2016 Anna set up a manufacturing business with a small retail chain of four stores under the brand name Anna Chapman, without any outside investment or credit. On January 1, 2017 the retail chain was sold without rights to the brand.

Anna now has more than 14 years’ experience in management.
